This book matters because its about the vietnam war.
My book ends in that her brother TJ dies while participating in the vietnam war and he runs in front of a bullet for her and he dies sadly. this book is still valuable today because it reminds us about the things that uses to happen to people who fought for our country. These are my reasons of why this book is important.

In the book "Shooting the moon " it begins to talk about a girl and she has a brother named TJ which is going to fight for the vietnam war. TJ was going to go to college but ended up leaving and going to war. After he left then jamie his sister wanted to also join the war. She tried so hard to be able to join because she was a girl. They then wanted to judge her because of her race.
a. What was historically happening in the country where your book takes place?
In the vietnam war. b. How do the events in the book compare to the real-life historical events? Because in the book it was told in the vietnam war and this war happened in real life. c. What perspective or point of view did the people of that country have on the conflict? What perspective do the characters in your book have? They are very sad because they had to leave collage and go to war which could is him risking his life. d. What other connections are made between your book and the historical events of your conflict? They both involve war and killing and they both were forced to go. I think that homeless animals should be noticed because they have a soul a heart and feeling called pain. I really think we as a school can change the fact the their are homeless animals on the road with no homes and have to live on the streets. Also as i was researching i was that Each year, approximately 2.7 million dogs and cats are killed every year because shelters are too full and there aren't enough adoptive homes. That made me realize that there are so, so, so many dogs, cats, kitties, and puppy they have to die because they don't have any homes.

I believe that exploring new places life changing. I believe that because it lets you expand your horizon. On my trip to Mexico it was such an amazing journey. It was a great journey because I discovered what it was like to be out of the country and without my mommy. I believe that going to Mexico was such an amazing journey for me because that was my first time I left the united states. So I went to mexico in 2016 it has been a year since i’ve gone. The reason I went to mexico was because my stepdad just moved to Mexico. My sister and I wanted to see him. So it was June 9th 2016 it was Thursday afternoon at 3:00 pm that's the time my sister and I started packing to leave for Mexico I was so excited to leave. Some of the things I packed were clothing, shampoo & conditioner, lotion, chapstick, socks, toothbrush, toothpaste and so on. Because we had to leave to the airport at 4:00 am I went to sleep at 7:00 pm. It was already friday morning 3:30 am my sister and I ran to the car and put our suitcases in the car. I reminded my sister to get our passports. Now we're on our way to the airport. I said OMG I can’t believe we’re here yes finally. Ok so we go out of the car. Omg it’s cold and windy outside. So we get our suitcases out of the car and start walking into the airport. There was not a lot of people because it was really early in the morning. Then all of a sudden they call our flight number. (Flight ***** taking off in 10 minutes). My sister and I walk to the station of our flight. We have to say bye to my mom. Me and my sister start to cry and cry it was one of the most saddest moments of my life. My eyes are so red and swollen. Then I waved bye to my mom. My mom looked so heart broken that as she walked away there was that one tear leaving her eye that made me feel so cold inside like if I was never going to see her again. Her last words were “bye Stephanie”. |
